DAY 1 – 16 June – Monday – DEPARTURE
Bus transportation to Atlanta Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport from St. Andrew Catholic Church
Flights, Atlanta to Lisbon – with connection. Meals on the plane.

DAY 2 – 17 June – Tuesday – ARRIVAL IN LISBON, PORTUGAL
You will be welcomed by your tour escort and driver before our transfer to the hotel in Lisbon for check-in. Afternoon an orientation tour. Celebrate Mass. Welcome dinner and overnight stay. (D)

DAY 3 – 18 June – Wednesday – LISBON
After breakfast we will enjoy a walking guided tour of Lisbon, starting at Alfama quarter. Visit Lisbon Cathedral and St Anthony church marking the birthplace of St. Anthony of Padua where we will celebrate Mass. Proceed along the Praca do Comercio, passing Rua Augusta toward Rossio Square medieval market. Visit the Cristo Rei statue overlooking the south bank of the Targas River where we will say a welcoming prayer in the chapel. It represents Portugal’s religious gratitude for avoiding WWII. Stop at the Belem Tower, Monument to Overseas Combatants, and Monument of the Discoveries. Drive past the Jerominos Monastery and St. Mary of Belem Church. Visit the National Tile Museum located in the Madre de Deus Convent. Dinner at the hotel or local restaurant and overnight stay. (B, D)

DAY 4 – 19 June – Thursday – LISBON – SANTAREM – FATIMA
Breakfast and check out. We will drive to Fatima en route stopping at Santarem visiting the Sanctuary of the Eucharistic miracle. The relic is venerated at Church of St Stephen in the historical center of the town. Celebrate Mass. Time for prayer and reflections. Upon arrival in Fatima we will have orientation tour, check in, have dinner and overnight. (B, D)

DAY 5 – 20 June – Friday – FATIMA
Today we visit the Chapel of the Apparitions and the Basilica of Our Lady of the Rosary of Fátima, the Basilica and the tombs of Francisco, Jacinta and Sr. Lucia. We also visit the Monument to the Sacred Heart of Jesus. In Aljustrel and Valinhos, we see the two homes of the little shepherds and site of the first and third visit of the “Angel of Peace.” We stop at the Parish Church and the cemetery where Francisco and Jacinta were once buried. Celebrate Mass. After dinner, we join the nightly candlelight Rosary procession. (B, D)

DAY 6 – 21 June – Saturday – FATIMA – Batalha – Nazaré – Fatima
After breakfast depart Fatima to visit the Monastery of Batalha, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. One of the most important Gothic sites in Portugal, Batalha was built to thank our Blessed Mother for a crucial military victory and was home to Dominicans until 1834. Afterwards we will be taking a ride all the way up to “Sítio da Nazaré”. Here we shall visit the Chapel of the Memory, built in 1182 in a cave next to Nazaré Promontory marking the memory of the legend of Nazaré. We will also visit the Sanctuary of Nossa Senhora da Nazaré, a place that has received many pilgrimages over the centuries bringing together people from every social class including the Royal Family. Celebrate Mass. Tonight, we again join in a candlelight Rosary procession after dinner. Overnight. (B, D)

DAY 7 – 22 June – Sunday – FATIMA – TOMAR – COIMBRA – PORTO
After breakfast we check out, we depart to Tomar to visit the Convent of Christ (Knights Templar Monastery / Fortress), Santa Maria do Olival Church and the Museu Luso-Hebraico Abraão Zacuto. Continue to Coimbra which offers a rich history, a beautifully preserved medieval old town, and other hidden architectural gems for us to discover. Included is a guided tour of Coimbra University, one of the oldest universities in the world. Visit Santa Clara-a-Nova where St. Elizabeth of Portugal is entombed and the Carmel Convent in Coimbra where Sister Lucia resided before her death and where the incorrupt body of St. Isabel rests. Celebrate Mass. Continue to Porto. Dinner and overnight (B, D)

DAY 8 – 23 June – Monday – PORTO
After breakfast, we will enjoy a half-day guided tour of Porto, one of Europe’s oldest cities. We will visit the city’s most emblematic monuments in a colorful urban landscape. With many centuries of history, we will visit the most picturesque corners of Porto and witness the magnificence of the great architectural symbols of the “Cidade Invicta” (The Unvanquished City), like the Porto Cathedral. Visit Museu de Vitral (stained glass museum – subject to confirmation due to local feast). Visit Livraria Lello one of the most beautiful bookstores in the world, (subject to confirmation due to local feast). Celebrate Mass. Porto river cruise. Dinner and overnight at hotel. (B, D)

DAY 9 – 24 June – Tuesday- PORTO –BRAGA – VALENCA DO MINHO – VIGO
Breakfast and check-out. Stop in Braga, one of the oldest Christian cities in the world. Visit the Sanctuary of Bom Jesus do Monte, UNESCO World Heritage site and pilgrimage destination, where devout followers have walked the “Stations of the Cross” for contemplation and penance since 1811. See the unique zigzag stairway dedicated to the five senses: sight, smell, hearing, touch, and taste—and the three theological virtues: faith, hope, and charity. Visit Our Lady of Sameiro: This the second-most visited shrine in Portugal after Fatima and is located about 5 miles from the city of Braga. Located in the center of town, the Cathedral is architecturally stunning. Four statues of saints greet you as you enter: St. Cyril of Alexandria, St. Bernard of Clairvaux, St. Anthony of Lisbon, and Saint Alphonsus Liguori. All four had a great dedication to Our Lady, and a statue of her is on the main altar. Celebrate Mass. Stop in Valenca do Minho and Tui (where pilgrims will walk through on El Camino.) Arrival to Vigo. Check in, dinner and overnight. (B, D)

DAY 10 – 25 June – Wednesday – VIGO – SANTIAGO DE COMPOSTELA
In the morning, check-out and depart for Santiago de Compostela. Santiago de Compostela is one of the most important Catholic cities on the world. Millions of people from all over the world come to this city every year, many of them reaching the end of the Way of Saint James pilgrimage route. Visit Santiago de Compostela Cathedral which houses the Apostle James’ tomb. See the cathedral including famous Botafumeiro and the Romanesque sculpture “Pórtico de la Gloria.” Mass at a local church. The afternoon is free. Dinner and overnight stay. (B, D)

DAY 11 – 26 June – Thursday – SANTIAGO – FINNISTERRE – SANTIAGO
Breakfast at the hotel. Visit the Collegiate Church of Santa María la Real de Sar. It was built in the 12th century on the outskirts of the city. Interesting elements on the exterior are the small tower on the façade and the sturdy flying buttresses built between the 17th and 18th centuries. Noon Mass at the Santiago de Compostela Cathedral with the Botafumeiro (giant thurible/incense burner). After lunch, excursion to Finisterre, passing through the amazing town of Carnota and Muros. Visit Finisterre whose name was given by the Romans, to a rocky place on the west coast of Galicia, Spain, as the end of the world. It is famous for being the final destination for pilgrims on the Camino de Santiago. Visit the Church of Santa Maria das Areas. It is a unique place for pilgrims, devotees and art lovers. Dinner and overnight stay. (B, D)
Please note: We will have the opportunity for an optional walk the “El Camino” for 5 to 10 miles (2-4 hours).

DAY 12 – 27 June – Friday – Departure from SANTIAGO airport
Transfer to SANTIAGO DE COMPOSTELA International Airport. Fly from Santiago de Compostela to Atlanta – with connection. Lunch on plane. Bus transportation from Atlanta Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport to St. Andrew Catholic Church. (B)

DAY 2 – 28 June – Saturday – Barcelona
After breakfast we will have a panoramic tour of Barcelona, the capital of Catalonia in Spain, a vibrant and culturally rich city. We will visit sites such as the Sagrada Familia. Celebrate Mass at Sagrada Familia. Visit Casa Batllo, Plaza Catalunya, Montjuic, Barrio Gotico with Barcelona’s Cathedral. Free afternoon. Dinner and overnight stay. (B, D)

DAY 3 – 29 June – Sunday – Barcelona – Montserrat – Lourdes
Breakfast and check out. Depart for Montserrat a mountain range located near Barcelona. It’s famous for its unique rock formations and the Benedictine monastery, Santa Maria de Montserrat, which is home to the Black Madonna statue. Visit the Santa Maria de Montserrat Abbey. Explore the monastery and its various buildings, including the basilica, the esplanade, and the chapels. The highlight for many is seeing the Black Madonna statue, also known as La Moreneta, in the Basilica. Celebrate Mass. Lunch on your own. Continue to Lourdes where we will spend the next two nights. Upon arrival in Lourdes, we check-in, have dinner. After dinner, we join the Candlelight Procession and the Rosary at the Grotto of the Apparitions. Overnight Lourdes. (B,D)

DAY 4 – 30 June – Monday – Lourdes
This morning, you will wake up in a small town that is nestled within the Pyrenees Mountains. During your time in Lourdes, you will pray and meditate in yet another site of Our Lady’s apparitions. Our Lady first appeared to Bernadette in 1858, and announced herself as “The Immaculate Conception”, near the Grotto of Massabielle. you will have the opportunity to attend Mass at the Grotto, where Our Lady appeared to Bernadette; drink water from the miraculous spring that has healed many; and submerge yourself in the healing baths. Walk in and meditate upon the footsteps of St. Bernadette. Your group will have the opportunity to see Boly Mill, the birthplace of St. Bernadette, and the “Cachot,” an abandoned prison where Bernadette’s impoverished family lived. Following dinner, you will have an opportunity to attend the Candlelight Procession and the Rosary before a restful overnight. (B, D)

DAY 5 – 1 July, Tuesday – Lourdes – Toulouse DEPARTURE
At agreed time, transfer to the Toulouse airport to catch our flights back to Atlanta. Fly from Toulouse to Atlanta – with connection. Lunch on plane. Bus transportation from Atlanta Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport to St. Andrew Catholic Church. (B)
