DAY 1: Departure
Depart the USA on an overnight flight to Italy. Meals will be served on board
DAY 2: Arrival
Upon arrival at the airport in Rome, meet the tour manager and drive to Assisi (a 3-hour drive). We stop in Orvieto to visit the Duomo and the Eucharistic Miracle of Bolsena. Celebrate Mass. Time at leisure and continue to Assisi. Check in at the hotel, dinner, and overnight (D)
DAY 3: Assisi
This morning, we begin the tour at San Damiano’s Convent, which we will reach by private taxi. Celebrate Mass (no space for large groups), return to Assisi for time at leisure for lunch. In the afternoon, with our guide, we will visit St Claire’s Basilica, followed by a stop at the Sanctuary of Espoliazione to see Blessed ( hoping saint by next year) Carlo Acutis. Proceed to San Francis’s Basilica, see Giotto’s frescoes in the upper basilica and St. Francis’ tomb in the lower basilica. More time at leisure before returning to the hotel for dinner and overnight (BD)
DAY 4: Assisi / Cascia (1.5 hrs drive)
Visit St. Rita’s Monastery and Basilica. Celebrate Mass. Take a break for lunch, then continue to Roccaporena and Loreto (a 3-hour drive). Check in at the hotel, dinner, and overnight. (BD)
DAY 5: Loreto
Visit the Marian Shrine, Celebrate Mass, Lunch. Continue to Lanciano (3 hrs drive) visit the Eucharistic Miracle church. Continue to San Giovanni Rotundo (2.5 hrs drive). Check in at the hotel, dinner, and overnight (BD)
DAY 6: San Giovanni Rotondo
San Padre Pio’s shrine. Visit and celebrate Mass. Afternoon, visit San Michael’s cave. Return to the hotel for dinner and overnight (BD)
DAY 7: Pompeii
Drive to Pompeii, celebrate Mass at Our Lady of the Rosary, and continue to Sorrento, where we will enjoy a restaurant lunch (included) before time at leisure to visit Sorrento. Dinner and overnight will be in SALERNO.
Time permitting, we will stop at the Cathedral (closed at 8:00 pm) to visit the incredible crypt where the relics of St. Matthew are preserved. (BLD)
DAY 8: Amalfi Coast
Amalfi Coast day. Dinner and overnight in Salerno (BD)
DAY 9: Salerno – Nettuno (5 hrs drive)
We check out after breakfast and drive to Nettuno to visit St Maria Goretti’s shrine, celebrate Mass, have lunch, continue to Rome, check in at the hotel, have dinner, and overnight (BD)
DAY 10: Rome
Rome: tour of the Basilicas- St Mary Major, the Holy Stairs and St John Lateran. – Break for lunch – This afternoon, we will visit the Vatican Museums, the Sistine Chapel, and St. Peter’s Basilica, with some time at leisure in the Vatican Area. You may want to consider purchasing religious items that the Pope will bless during the Papal Audience. Return to the hotel for dinner and overnight (BD)
DAY 11: Rome
Rome: Papal Audience. Fountains and squares- We return to St. Peter’s Square in the early morning to attend the Papal Audience. We then regain our bus and drive to the city center. Enjoy time at leisure for shopping at the Spanish Steps. Meet the local guide and enjoy a walking tour to see the Trevi Fountain, the Pantheon (outside) the Basilica of St. Maria Sopra Minerva (relics of St. Catherine), and Navona Square. Celebrate Mass at St. Augustine’s Church before heading to the restaurant for the farewell dinner. Return to the hotel for overnight (B Farewell D)
DAY 12: Departure
After breakfast, we will transfer to the airport for our flight home. We will arrive home on the same day. (B)
